China-ASEAN agri produce market facility starts construction

THE China-ASEAN agricultural produce market has started construction recently in Qinzhou to be developed into a produce "one-stop" procurement trading platform aimed at the ASEAN market, reports Xinhua.

The facility is located in the southern coastal Qinnan district in Qinzhou city Guangxi province, occupying an area of 66.7 hectares, entailing an investment of CNY1.2 billion (US$195 million).

The facility will have five main functional zones for fruit, integrated service, aquatic products processing and distribution, vegetables and cold chain service and will offer comprehensive "one-stop" procurement standard services such as logistics, distribution, warehousing, finance, commerce and trading.

After completion, it will be able to handle up to one million tonnes of fruit imports and exports to and from ASEAN regions per year.
