Steer clear of HK Convention & Exhibition Centre: Marine Department

THE Hong Kong Marine Department has advised small craft to stay at least 100 metres away from the shore of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Heliport in Wanchai.

"Due to the heliport downwash and noise during landing and taking off, it may affect the respective sighting and hearing of visual and sound signals of local craft in the vicinity," the statement said.

The department has been observed that some small local craft tend to navigate extremely close to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Heliport. "This practice is imprudent and dangerous," said the Marine Department.
