Singapore Airport Terminal Services wins Best Air Cargo Terminal award

GATEWAY services and food solutions provider, Singapore Airport Terminal Services Ltd (SATS), has won the "Best Air Cargo Terminal in Asia" award at the 27th Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) in Beijing.

SATS handles 80 per cent of the scheduled flights and serves 60 scheduled airlines at Singapore Changi Airport. The company operates in 36 airports in 10 countries and through its non-aviation food business it has established its presence in Australia and China.

"In the last 12 months, we implemented the use of mobile tablets for greater accuracy in checking export airway bill manifests - a first in an Asian air freight terminal - and the introduction of barcoding and scanning system to improve accountability and traceability of express shipments," said SATS vice president Ronald Yeo.

Mr Yeo also said that the company successfully handled Singapore's first air-sea trial transhipment of chilled lamb from New Zealand to the UK through Coolport@Changi, paving the way for potential new trade flows through our on-airport perishables handling facility.
